China’s invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technology has enabled a quadriplegic patient to steer a wheelchair and command a robotic dog using only thoughts. Scientists implanted ultra-thin electrodes, achieving a system delay under 100 milliseconds — faster than a normal brain-to-action response (~200 ms). The technology advances beyond 2D tasks to real-world 3D operations, enhancing control stability and real-time adaptability.
