
International experts at the Global Landscapes Forum Africa in Nairobi commended China’s experience in territorial spatial planning, ecosystem restoration and collaborative governance, noting its practices offer a replicable model for African nations grappling with land degradation and ecological fragility, and promising broader China-Africa ecological cooperation.
Kenyan, UNCCD, Ethiopian and World Bank officials spoke highly of China’s unified "One Map" geographic platform for natural resource management, its eco-tourism and sustainable financing models, as well as its mature balance of ecological protection and economic growth. They also recognized China’s strengths in technological innovation, private-sector participation and talent training.
Experts hope to deepen China-Africa and South-South cooperation in ecological restoration, technology sharing, digital governance and bamboo resource development, enabling African countries to advance green transition and sustainable development by drawing on China’s proven expertise.
