A nine-member Chinese medical team visited Fiji for six days, performing cataract and laser treatments for 106 patients. The team brought advanced surgical skills and an AI portable eye-screening device with around 90 percent screening accuracy. As part of China's "Bright Journey" program launched in Fiji in 2015, the initiative has restored sight to more than 500 local people and helped boost Fiji's local ophthalmic service capacity.
