Since its opening in 2021, the China-Laos Railway has carried 20.77 million tonnes of import and export goods worth over 100.4 billion yuan. It has run more than 25,000 international freight trains, connecting 19 countries and regions. Imports of Southeast Asian tropical fruits keep rising, while exports of high-tech and mechanical-electrical products see strong growth. Improved customs clearance and cold-chain services help the railway develop into a vital international logistics corridor.
